In winter of 2016 MJ and Ella spent 6 weeks in Wellington FL on a scholarship from The Dressage Foundation to work with USDF instructor/faculty member Annie Morris. In 2017 they returned to FL for season, working with USDF instructor/judge Jennifer Sappington Truett. MJ found both experiences invaluable both to her partnership with her mare Ella, and also to her training system for her CEC students back home.
With 20 years teaching experience – Mary Jo specializes in teaching beginner and intermediate riding lessons for all ages. Her strong dressage background helps her focus on both developing a rider’s seat and balance and improving the horse’s ability to balance and work correctly. Her enthusiasm for teaching and the relationships she establishes with her students helps riders to progress confidently through their lessons.
Mary Jo enjoys working with students to achieve various goals- from improving dressage tests, to learning to work over small courses, to improving a horse and riders ability to work together in sync.
