Zulu Interagro | Black Tie Interagro |Astyages Interagro

Zulu Interagro, 2003 Lusitano stallion (Profano Interagro x Trovoada Interagro) arrived at CEC in March 2008. Bred at the Interagro stud in Brazil, he captivated Athene at the Lusitano Exposition and Auction in Florida with his presence and wonderful gaits, combined with a gentleness that set him apart from the other magnificent horses on show.

Zulu's dressage ability continues to grow exponentially, with help from Athene's trainer, Tim Malin, who has competed him to many blue ribbons and good scores at 3rd level in 2011.

Zulu is a pro on the trails, and handles all natural obstacles with ease. He is partcularly fond of water! He has demonstrated his adaptability and athleticism by participating in Versatile Horse and Rider Competitions, Judged Trail Rides, even Reining Clinics.

In the discipline of Working Equitation: a 3 part competition which includes a Dressage Test, an Obstacle Course, and a timed Obstacle Course, Zulu is competing at the 2nd highest level available to horses in the USA. He won his division at the ERAHC 2011 show in July 2011, and finished as High Point Champion for the show, as he did in 2009 and 2010. He is also the recipient of many USEF year-end awards

Gentle, affectionate, and well-behaved for a stallion, Zulu is an attention-grabber, and clearly regards himself as "the main man" at CEC!

He has one foal on the ground: the enchanting WF Fiona, who had a wonderful debut show season in 2010.

Zulu's stud fee, and more information about him, may be obtained from Athene: athene@ctequestrian.com

His pictures may be found in the gallery: Zulu Interagro.

One short ride on Zulu was all it took for Tracy Aubin to decide that a Lusitano was the horse for her!

She is now the proud owner of Black Tie Interagro (Nordeste x Vega Interagro) (2005). Black Tie is closely related to Zulu as his dam's sire was Profano Interagro.

Black Tie arrived at CEC in 2010 and settled in quickly. Like Zulu, Tie, as he is affectionately known, shows similar enthusiasm for trail-riding, as well as clear aptitude for dressage and jumping.

Both Tie and Zulu can trace their lineage back directly to the famous international show-jumper Novelhheiro, so Tie should have no problem exceling in Tracy's chosen field: eventing.

Tie is charming and goofy, and is always ready to play! Fortunately he realizes that he needs to work as well, and he is doing well developing his flatwork, and starting gymnastic work over small fences. Watch out for him in the show ring soon!

Astyages Interagro (Ofensor x Miga) (2004) joined the Interagro clan at CEC in April 2011.

Purchased by Athene at the 2011 Interagro auction, Astyages already demonstrates great dressage ability and solid 2nd level movements. Astyages has noble bull-fighting Veiga blood-lines, and Athene hopes that these will serve him well in Working Equitation.

At the ERAHC 2011 show at Mount Holyoke, Astyages showed that potential by winning the Novice Division of Working Equitation, as well as many other classes. He also held his own in the Black and White Quadrille that was part of the Saturday night entertainment at the show, and finished as Reserve High Point Champion for the show, to Zulu!

Also in July 2011, he performed his first Musical freestyle at 1st level to a Queen medley and scored a respectable 65.5%.

He is settling in well at CEC and enjoying the love and attention he receives as well as his varied and interesting routine.
